Dear Ms. Duran,

The Greenwich Village Block Associations (GVBA) is a community wide coalition of organizations dedicated to preserving and improving the quality of life for residents of Greenwich Village. On Thursday, September 25 we held our monthly meeting. A primary topic of discussion was the subject of street fairs and how they impact our community.

As you are responsible for granting permits for street fairs, a few of us would like to meet with you to discuss the subject. We believe that it may be possible to achieve a better understanding and a cooperative relationship with regard to street fairs.

We agreed on these two points:

1. Since the Village is an extremely popular location for street fairs, we believe that groups with community ties should take precedence over groups with a global agenda.

2. We do not believe that a moratorium on new street fairs is necessarily the answer to our community’s concerns.

We believe that you will find that we are reasonable and concerned representatives and I hope that you will be able to meet with us. I will call your office next week, but if you would prefer to contact me, I would be happy to speak with you at any time.

We look forward to meeting with you. Thank you.
