Testimony on the Noise Bill
The City Council's Committee on Environmental Protection will take public testimony on the Mayor's noise bill at its next hearing. But the timing is hard to pin down. As of mid-April, the Committee had a meeting scheduled for May 4, but this date could change ,and the hearing could be moved to another meeting as well.

This is frustrating, but it is very important that we testify whenever the hearing actually occurs. If nody comes to testify about motorcycle noise, Councilmembers could pass over our issue on the grounds that there is no interest in it. Worse, bikers in favor of more permissive standards could show up and persuade the Council to maintin the (disruptive) status quo.

You live here. You know what it's like and how you are affected. Please volunteer to testify on the bill.

In person: If you can testify at the hearing, we want to coordinate your efforts with those of others so that we can avoid duplication and we can offer tips to help you present your testimony effectively.

In writing: If you can't be there in person, we can submit your written testimony to be read into the record.
