The Palio on Minetta Lane (September 7, 2008)
Congratulations & thank you to all our guests, participants and volunteers,
especially our young servers!
You have made the 2008 Palio the most successful ever in its three-year history.
In addition to a traditional, New York block party, bringing family, friends and neighbors together around the table to share a wonderful meal, the Palio raises money to purchase historic streetlights for Minetta Lane & Street. We need five lights, which cost approximately $6,000 each, installed (all at once) and maintained by the City,
but initially purchased by the community.
We have commitments for two lights from our generous benefactors, Silvano Marchetto of DaSilvano and Joel Mandel, sponsor of 1 Minetta Street.
We have now raised money for a third one, so we have only two more to go!
