Celebration of the Summer Solstice at the Jefferson Market Garden

On Monday June 21, the Friends of the Jefferson Market Garden celebrated the Summer Solstice. Jeanine Flaherty began and ended the ceremony with the rattling of the keys to the Women's House of Detention which formerly stood on the site of the garden. The keys were unearthed by BJ Westman in October 1989 as he was planting tulip bulbs. The ceremony was conducted by Lynn Pacifico.
